The Hoxton Williamsburg, Brooklyn

United States

$$$$ · Restaurant · Bar · Rooftop

Prices start at: $398 plus taxes & fees*

A Brit in New York, the Hoxton hotels are mostly located in Europe. They chose Williamsburg as their first NYC location. Opened in 2018 as a 4 star hotel with 175 rooms, occupying the site of the former factory of Rosenwach Water Towers, the folks who made the iconic wood water towers that dotted the roofs of the NYC skyline for around 100 years.

It’s clear they’re doing things differently. A Flexi Time initiative gives guests the freedom to check-in and check-out whenever suits them (at no additional cost). The Hox Shop located in the lobby stocks beer, wine and snacks for purchase at bodega prices, rather than the typically exorbitant hotel minibar prices. Guests who opt to leave a Breakfast (paper) Bag outside their door, will wake to find it’s been filled with a granola, fruit and OJ—all for just $4.

The common areas are utilized by both guests and locals—this is where the hotel really shines. Couches and tables are filled with eager to work, creative individuals. Bespoke graphic linens designed by Brooklyn-based Dusen Dusen, are a bold and welcoming touch, not often seen in other hotels. Head to the second floor for The Hoxton’s newest edition, Jaffa, a cocktail & raw bar serving light coastal bites and dangerously good citrusy drinks.

Whilst there’s almost too many options for great restaurants in Williamsburg and the surrounding areas, you needn’t head much further than one or both (on separate nights most likely) of either Laser Wolf or K’Far, both obscenely tasty menus. K’Far’s unique dining experience allows for all weather with its retractable glass-roofed patio, featuring dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner with delicious Israeli and Arabic flavors. Laser Wolf’s equally splendid dining experience is located on the rooftop of the hotel with magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline. Here you’ll find an Israeli style “shipudiya” (skewer house), with lots of charcoal grilling and Israeli salads & condiments—pro tip, stay for dessert.
