The centerpiece in Brisbane’s relatively new, uber cool James Street precinct, Calile Hotel has elevated the bar for hotel experiences in Australia—plus a must-visit shopping and dining destination. The hotel is named after the owner's great grandfather who came to Australia in 1892 and created his own retail empire in Brisbane. Designed by local architects Richards & Spence, you’ll feel like you’re in Miami beach or somewhere on the beaches in Mexico.
The rooms & suites are light and bright, there are 175 rooms, including 11 suites.
From the cork floor that’s waiting to meet your bare feet to the natural marble surfaces, cool oak trim, subway tiles, arches, and rounded edges, pastels of pistachio and peach effortlessly add to the obscenely instagram worthy interiors. For the essentials, they've even included tasteful filtered, chilled water filling stations. If you can, do yourself a favor and request a poolside room—with a great terrace overlooking the pool you'll never miss any action.
Six restaurants and bars offer more than one would expect from some of the world's largest and best hotels. Without compromising, though, on quality. Each experience is unique and equally delicious. The Lobby bar, located (of course) next to the lobby serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our favorite, Hellenika, serves sensational, authentic Greek dishes in a sophisticated poolside setting—guests can also order from the Cabana's by the pool, and the comfort of their own room. SK Steak & Oyster is open for lunch and dinner Thursday-Saturday—for lighter options and martini’s galore. Craving sushi? The Sushi Room offers a refined Japanese fine dining experience with careful consideration of traditions. Head to sAme sAme for a delectable street-inspired Thai food lunch (Fri-Sun) or dinner journey that will not disappoint. And lastly, but certainly not least, Bianca (the newest edition) serves simple, classic Italian dishes made in-house with a nod to the Australian climate and seasonal produce.
The facilities here are second to none, they have spared no expense in creating a space for everyone. For those in need of some recharging and selfcare, KAILO Medispa is likely where you'll want to be. Treatments available include, Massage & spa treatments, Cosmetic injectables, Vitamin therapy, Advances skin treatments, Laser, Eye-brows and makeup.
The gym is one of the more luxurious ones we've experienced—state of the art equipment and everything you need to pump and get your sweat on. A personal trainer can be booked through the hotel, just ask! The pool is really the focal point of the hotel, almost all-year round summer weather makes for good use of the lounge area, cabana's and outdoor spaces that surround the pool. The Library is a nice quiet space to sit and read, or even get some work done with the business center facilities also found here. For those looking for a quiet night in, you’ll find new release movies to stream for free on your well sized flat-screen TV… feel free to turn the volume up!
