Opened in 1942, The Betsy was designed by L. Murray Dixon, and reopened in 2009 after a full makeover from architect Carmelina Santoro. Sporting 130 rooms, including 33 suites it’s one of our favorite hotel stays in South Beach. The Betsy Hotel is located at the end of iconic Ocean Drive, meaning you’re within easy reach to plethora of restaurants, shops, and nightlife, but removed enough for when you crave a peaceful retreat (hint: rooftop pool). 

The rare Georgian-style hotel has all the charm of a family-owned boutique hotel—four-poster beds, plantation shutters, crisp Miami white linens, and pops of color on feature walls. Two restaurants from Michelin-starred Chef Laurent Tourondel, a private beach club (across the road), rooftop yoga, and evening jazz, The Betsy has it all.

For beach views, you'll want one of the Royal Suites, and if you're lucky enough, there are a limited number of Classic King and Classic Double rooms with views of Lummus Park and the Atlantic Ocean.
