Superbly located opposite the Tivoli Gardens, guests lucky enough to be facing the garden have delightful views of the fairground rides that light up the night. Originally the Royal Danish Academy of Music, it was converted from offices to the quintessentially Scandinavian hotel it is today, with 75 rooms, including 13 suites.

Guests will immediately notice the high ceilings, likely fantastic acoustics for music back in its day. Minimalist Scandinavian design, soft tones and shades keep the aesthetic very easy on the eyes. Local soaps and amenities, large king beds, armchairs, and great design make for an uber comfortable stay.

When in Scandinavia, do as they do, the hotel has a sleek black marble retreat with sauna and cold plunge pool—it's an obligatory experience. Word of advice, many Europeans prefer to sauna in a state of complete undress—just a heads up.

Like many European cities, it's a very walkable city and area, but it's definitely best experienced by bike. The hotel offers their bright red bikes for hire, however, you might find a better deal with the city's own bike-hire system. They're cheaper and also have e-bikes with built-in navigation screens—keep on the lookout for 'quiet cars' (electric cars are everywhere).
